Advice: Make an advance reservation
The first time I went to Les Faux I didn’t have a reservation, I called first and was told that I could drop by and snag a table for two by waiting about 30 minutes or so. That advice wasn’t so good, as the place was jammed by the time I got there, my friend and I were lucky to get the last seats at the bar. On my next visit I made a reservation 8 days in advance and this began a journey to a great dining experience. This is a wonderful spot to take a friend who may be celebrating a birthday, or taking someone for a romantic night out, it is a slice of Paris in Vancouver. At $15-$19 dollars a dish the price point is ideal, the servers are relaxed and informative and the atmosphere is very Parisian.
On my first visit I had the Le Steak Frites ($16) with wine reduction sauce, this came with a generous portion of tasty fries which were superb and for dessert the Hot Chocolate and Madeleines ($7) which was like mini Donuts, a little warm with a cup of think hot chocolate for dipping. On my return visit I had the Fillet D’Agneau Poele ($17) and shared the Mixed Olives ($4) with my friend. For dessert we shared the Milk Chocolate Mousse ($7) which was a perfect ending to our meal.
