I recently spent a week test driving the Honda CR-V 2023 outside driving in Washington state with ultimate destination being Snoqualmie Falls with some stops along the way.
We stopped in Bellingham for a Cold brew coffee at Hammerhead Coffee (405 E Holly St, Bellingham), their new flagship coffeeshop in downtown Bellingham just off of State Street. Serving breakfast and lunch all day, every day. In addition to their coffee offerings they also are known for their biscuits.
The steering wheel frames a partially digital gauge cluster with an analog speedometer and a display that allows the driver to swap between different informational menus.
After driving for another 2+ hours we arrived at one of the popular spots in Renton where the locals eat, Kami Teriyaki (12636 164th Ave SE, Renton) this was a total hole in the wall with great food, and tasty Teriyaki. I had the Teriyaki Chicken that came with rice and salad; while Lawrence had the Lunch Special was Chicken Teriyaki, rice, salad and an Eggroll.
The car interior has an attractive design inspired by the Civic compact car and is complemented by modern tech, including an infotainment system with an available 9.0-inch touchscreen that has wireless Apple CarPlay which I used frequently.
After a tasty lunch we headed over to visit the quaint town of Snoqualmie. It happened to be the same day as their Winter Lights festival, so we took in the festivities around town.
Many of the exterior shots for David Lynch’s Twin Peaks television series and movie (Fire Walk with Me) were filmed in Snoqualmie and in the neighboring towns of North Bend and Fall City. The name “Snoqualmie” comes from the name of the indigenous people of the same name. It is an Anglicization of the Lushootseed name sdukʷalbixʷ, which means “people of the moon”.
We then visited Snoqualmie Falls Park that was minutes away where we walked the scenic trail to the base of the falls.
Honda equips every 2023 CR-V with a boatload of standard driver-assistance technology. Along with newly standard blind-spot monitoring, the compact SUV now comes with a driver-attention monitor, and traffic-sign recognition
Visited Makeworth Coffee Roasters (1201 N State St, Bellingham) in downtown Bellingham that is situated in a beautiful historic building with original wood floors with natural light that has been updated with a modern and intentional design approach to bring natural warmth to the Pacific Northwest setting. I got a Cold Brew coffee to go which kept me caffeinated towards Vancouver.
I really enjoyed the Honda CR-V 2023 was a great car to drive to Bellingham, Renton and Snoqualmie to try some great eateries and go exploring as well.
