Experiencing the Seafood Brunch at Bruno

Enjoyed a delicious brunch with both Lawrence Ferber and Lawrence Lee on a Saturday recently at one of my favourite restaurants in Richmond. Every weekend this restaurant offers a Seafood Brunch where they serve it all to your table for $59 per person; it’s almost like the brunch buffets of yesterday, yet it isn’t, here as they serve each of the dishes directly to your table.

1st dish:

We ended up asking and doing a little bit of substituting based on dietary preferences. Normally the first dish is the Chilled Shellfish with oysters, prawn cocktail marinated mussels & clams, wild pink scallops; and one of my brunch mates enjoyed that dish. The other two which included me enjoyed the Kurobuta Pork Belly (this was a substitution for a couple not eating the Shellfish dish) black garlic balsamic glazed peppercorn lime aioli; and the Fried Chicken (this was a substitution for a couple of us not eating the Shellfish dish).

 2nd dish:

Tuna & Crab Poke a very tasty dish with avocado, kaiso seaweed, shaved red onion, scallions sesame seed, and crisp protato chips

3rd dish:

Burrata Salad a beautiful salad with strawberry, fig, avocado, baby basil heirloom tomatoes, burrata

4th dish:

Salmon Lobster Benny

salmon and lobster salad, bottarga hollandaise (and one with Avocado for me instead of the egg); with Fraser Valley Sausage & Double Smoked Bacon

5th dish:

Crispy Brussels Sprouts a flavourful dish with marcona almonds, calabrian chili crunch, parmesan

6th dish:

Truffle Potatoes

smash fried, garlic truffle butter, parmesan herbs, green peppercorn aioli

7th dish:

Liege Waffle with pistachio mascarpone cream, wild berry compote and this was the table favourite; we would all come back just for more of this dish.
