The Ploughman’s Lunch

The Tomato Melt

Tomato Bisque
One of my favourite cafes on the North Shore, situated in the Deep Cove area, it’s a beautiful café for enjoying some delicious food and caffeinated beverages. Over a few visits, I have enjoyed their specialty of the house, The Ploughman’s Lunch with a Grilled cheese served with their daily artisan meat selection, half of a ripe avocado and a side of Vista D’Oro’s curried apple coconut preserve. The Tomato Melt was good as well with vine ripened tomatoes on toast topped with aged cheddar, arugula and blueberry balsamic drizzle. The Tomato Bisque is house-made with crumbled feta cheese, pesto and cracked pepper, what a beauty, bright flavours, make sure to ask for this as it isn’t always available. I have also tried the tasty signature Avocado on Toast which is Served on Nelson the Seagull bread with a side of Vista D’Oro curried apple coconut preserve.

Orso Macchiato

Cortado
On the drinks side of offerings, the Orso Macchiato, an incredible creation served with 3 tiny dolce de leche dipped waffle bites, loved the chocolate bite followed by the pecan bite and then the coconut bite, each while sipping the drink, expressed a different flavour profile to go along with the 49th Parallel Old School espresso; and the Cortado also made with the 49th Parallel Old School espresso was done up perfectly.
I love when cafes get it right, and this one has.
