During the weekend of July 13 – 15, 2012 I enjoyed countless hours listening to music from musicians who performed at the 35^th Annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival that was held at Jericho Beach Park. In addition to the music, I ate and drank my way through the festival weekend by trying many of the dishes the food vendors were selling.

On Saturday night July 14^th I joined Grant Lawrence (Host) on the Main Stage to talk food and to tell everyone what I had been eating and enjoying at the festival this far. On Sunday night July 15^th, I joined Grant Lawrence on stage again to present my Food Awards for Best Dessert as well as Best Food in the Food Court of the festival.

My #1 Award went to Urban Wood Fired Pizza for their Vegetarian Pizza for the food and the experience!

Veggie Burger and Chips

My #2 Award went to Street Meet Truck for their Veggie Burger and Chips!

Veggie Lasagna

My #3 Award went to Taste of Italy for their Veggie Lasagna!

I then gave a Best Dessert award to Earnest Ice Cream!

Salt Spring Coffee

Iced Spiced Mocha Frappe

Although I didn’t have an award to give them, I enjoyed my visits to the Salt Spring Coffee Mobile Truck throughout the weekend and loved the Iced Spiced Mocha Frappe that I had twice!

You may be wondering why my Best Awards went to dishes that were all Vegetarian when you know that I am not Vegetarian. Well I did have other dishes such as the Salmon Burger from Cedar Feast House, and the Seafood Paella from Viva Paella plus a few others during the festival and it just so happened Vegi won out this folk festival weekend.
