First Taste of Oshi Nori

Specializing in sushi hand rolls and other Japanese dishes in the heart of Yaletown, owners’ husband and wife Paulo and Priscilla have created a great spot featuring high quality seafood.

Everything is so fresh and flavourful and you get to watch the chefs making the rolls right in front of you.

The interior features a wooden seating bar that seats 25 people, along with a large painting on the Eastern wall that inspires the focus on sushi and more.

Lawrence joined me and we tried many dishes.

We both enjoyed the refreshing Sunomono salad along with the Chefs Sashimi selection (that featured 12 pieces) and some hot Miso Soup. The Spicy Bluefin Donburi was a beautiful and tasty bowl to share as were both the Shakemaki Negitoro and Tuna tataki.

The Hand-Rolls were all very tasty including the Aburi Ora King salmon sushi, Ora king salmon hand roll, Negitoro hand roll, Aburi scallop hand roll, Unagi hand roll, A5 Wagyu hand roll, and Lobster hand roll.

I loved the Matcha creme brulee, we also had their Mochi ice cream for dessert.

Oshi Nori is located at 1055 Mainland Street in downtown Vancouver. You can follow them on instagram @eatoshinori
