It has been awhile since my last visit to Chef Le Chi and her restaurant in Kitsilano, my friend Sylvia Talbot and I enjoyed a wonderful catchup over these delicious modern Vietnamese dishes.
1st dish:
Lemongrass Beef Jerky Papaya Salad such a unique and delicious salad made with house-made spiced lemongrass beef jerky, shredded green papaya, rau ram, carrots.
2nd dish:
Nem Nuong Cuon – Pork Spring Rolls with Mixed fresh herbs, grilled pork, house special sauce
3rd dish:
Com Chien – Chi Fried Rice with Free range egg, Vietnamese sausage, green onions, ginger garlic crumble
4th dish:
Bo Luc Lac Shaking Beef, with AAA Filet Mignon cooked with the chef’s secret Umami sauce, outstanding dish served with fresh onions, watercress and cilantro and pepper garnish.
5th dish:
Cari Vit – Five spice curry duck confit brome lake duck leg braised in red coconut curry, ginger, basil, crispy shallots.
6th dish:
House-made Sour Cream Ice Cream
House-made Chocolates to end the delicious dinner of new discoveries and flavours.
