Last week I had the pleasure to meet Cookbook Author, Mollie Katzen at Books to Cooks. She was in town to promote her new book “The Heart of the Plate”, a beautiful book filled with vegetarian recipes for a new generation.
Mollie gave a talk to the intimate group of guests about her life, cooking and cookbooks. Known for her Moosewood Cookbook as well as many others which has written over the past 40 years she is the queen of vegetarianism.
She served as all a tasting of a recipe from her latest book which was called Beet Crush over yogurt.
In The Heart of the Plate, she completely reinvents the vegetarian repertoire, unveiling a collection of beautiful, healthful, and unfussy dishes. Her new cuisine is light, sharp, simple, and modular. The Heart of the Plate is vibrantly illustrated with photographs and original watercolors by the author herself.
You can find The Heart of the Plate cookbook at Books for Cooks Bookshop located at 1740 West 2nd Avenue (just East of Burrard) in Vancouver.
