A couple of weeks ago I attended this bustling market that was filled with foodies and music lovers out experiencing food stalls from a growing number of smaller food vendors as well as some known food trucks.
Chris Jerome had this great idea for a different sort of night market which he launched late last year. Hawkers Market is a pop-up food marketplace where local food entrepreneurs can test new ideas and make connections in an underground warehouse off the beaten track in East Van.
The line-up of food vendors and food trucks vary from event to event, this time around I tasted sweet bites from Sweet Petite Cindy @SweetPetiteCin indulged in an adult ice cream sundae bar from Brown Paper Packages @BPPicecream and enjoyed a salted caramel, apple and goat cheese crepe from Chouchou Crepes @chouchoucrepes
The market features a DJ spinning tunes, the music is fairly loud, people are mingling, dancing and eating, what a great scene!
Advance tickets are only $10 which includes entry to the market, you then purchase whatever your heart desires from the exhibiting vendors! This is a sweet idea, you can check out one of the upcoming events at http://www.hawkersmarket.com/
