Vancouver Coffee Drink Challenge

Welcome to the 10th annual  Vancouver Coffee Drink Challenge. Cafes from around the city were invited to enter their respective signature coffee drink creation into this challenge. Each café will be featuring their Signature Coffee creation on their menu from January 11 – February 4, 2024.

How Does this all Work? For the public challenge, you are invited to go out and order any or all of the coffee drink creations in this challenge, then you decide who you think has the best creation for the People’s Choice award winners. 

Share your experiences: Share your photos on Instagram and TikTok throughout the challenge, our instagram and TikTok address is @vanfoodster and the hashtag is #CoffeeDrinkChallengeYVR please include this hashtag in all your social media sharing during the challenge.

Voting criteria –  some things to help you judge your favourite coffee creations – keep these things in mind: originality, creativity, uniqueness, traditional, non-traditional, price, value and most importantly taste.

How to VOTE :

  1. Look for our Coffee Drink challenge posters in each of the participating cafes.
  2. Scan the QR code and Vote for your favourites from January 11 – February 4, 2024.

Get some friends together and visit 2 places or more to taste the different coffee creations or go solo or with a friend– just remember to VOTE for your favourites

Wicked Café

Tiramisu Latte

Description: Wicked winter special: 8oz hot vanilla latte topped with tiramisu cream and served with a side of biscoff

Ingredients: Espresso, steamed milk, vanilla syrup, tiramisu cream (mascarpone, cream cheese, heavy cream, sugar), cocoa powder, biscoff. Milk substitutes are possible, but the tiramisu cream contains dairy!

Chai Ghai

The Delhi Smog

Description: The Delhi smog blankets the skies of one the world’s most densely populated cities. Our drink, the Delhi smog, features two shots of creamy and smooth espresso merging with our world famous chai concentrate brewed fresh. It is finished with steam milk and a piece of cinnamon and star anise. All the spices of Delhi, but the boldness of Italy.

Ingredients: Mummyji’s Masala Chai’s ingredients which are Black Tea, Ginger, Cinnamon, Cardamon, Black + White Pepper, Clove and Nutmeg, plus espresso, steam milk, topped with a cinnamon stick and a star anise.

Bean Around the World on Granville

The Canadian Cuban!

Description: It’s a fusion of Cuban and Canadian two staples. Cane sugar for Cuba and Maple syrup for Canada. Cane sugar on the espresso shot, with infused maple syrup milk for a late!

Not too sweet with a subtle hint of sweetness.
