New Dishes, New Menu at Torafuku

Chef Clement Chan invited me in to try his new menu of which it featured many new dishes.

1st dish:

Miso Corny

Miso Corny was juicy and full of flavours, Hickory smoked corn, miso butter, togorashi.

2nd dish:

Taco Time

Taco Time

Taco Time Smoked pork hock, miso, pickled onion, crispy shallots, salsa verde, a modern Asian take on a taco.

3rd dish:

Bun Me

Bun Me

Bun Me Chinese steamed bun, marinated green cabbage, slow roasted beef brisket, root beer BBQ sauce and a spicy kick of chillies.

4th dish:

Rabbit Food

Rabbit Food

Rabbit Food Mixed kale salad, gem tomatoes, Jinhua ham, shaved parm, crispy quinoa, lemon essence, anchovy buttermilk dressing, making this one tasty salad.

5th dish:

Lucky Tiger Ramen

Lucky Tiger Ramen Korean style cold ramen, cucumbers, beansprouts, mustard compressed radish, Yong Yong’s special sauce, refreshing and light.

6th dish:

Peaches& Cream

Peaches& Cream

Peaches & Cream Heirloom tomatoes, local compress peaches, kohlrabi, and a delicious orange buttermilk vinaigrette.

7th dish:

Veggie Tales

Veggie Tales

Veggie Tales Buccatini pasta, wild kale, foraged mushrooms, gem tomatoes, toasted hazelnuts, grated parm, yuzu butter.

8th dish:

Skaterboy

Skaterboy

Skaterboy Brown butter poached skate, trumpet mushrooms, market veggies, sour apple and cucumber nage, hollandaise emulation, truffle hollandaise motoyaki, a very good dish.

9th dish:

Give a Dog a Bone

Give a Dog a Bone, what an incredible creative dish with Smoked bone marrow, beef luck lac, pickled greens, market veggies, crispy potato noodles.

10th dish:

Milk & Cookie

Milk & Cookie

Milk & Cookie Vanilla panna cotta, yuzu gelée, raspberry coulis, almond and black sesame shortbread, my favourite of the two desserts that I tried.

The Bullwinkle Show

The Bullwinkle Show Dark chocolate mousse, hazelnut chocolate wafer, fresh fruit, passion fruit foam.
