Korean Fried Chicken Cooking Class

Chef Tarek Chellouf

I recently took part in a Korean Fried Chicken cooking class at the Northwest Culinary Academy of Vancouver lead by Chef Tarek Chellouf. The school recently launched their One Night Cooking Class series that features a different themed cooking class in one night.

I never thought I could make Korean Fried Chicken at home, now I have the knowledge to do so. In this fun class we also learned how to make Scallion pancakes as well as a Korean cucumber salad.

Chef Tarek explained each of the cooking steps in detail and showed everyone what they needed to do.

Once I was at my station after Chef Tarek’s demo, I cooked and made the Scallion Pancake; along with the Cucumber Salad and worked with my team to make the Korean Fried Chicken in 2 flavours.

After an educational demo with Chef Tarek, we each went to our stations and cooked up the dishes and we then were seated at the long table to indulge in the delicious dinner we all had made. We even got to take home a sandwich for the next day as well as some leftovers.

The cost for most of the One Night Cooking classes are $89 per person. The Northwest Culinary Academy of Vancouver is located at 2726 Main Street in Vancouver. You can call them at (604) 876-7653 and find them on Instagram @nwcav_chefs
