Cooking with Intercity Packers DIY Pacific Chowder Kit

As an Ocean Wise Seafood Chowder Chowdown Ambassador during this month of February, I have been tasting several chowders created by some local chefs and their respective restaurants. One extra special feature of this inaugural National Chowder Chowdown Festival is the addition of Intercity Packers who are offering a Do It Yourself chowder kit that comes frozen and is delivered to homes across the lower mainland as well as across Canada.

This is another great idea for all home cooks especially now when many are homebound due to the covid19 pandemic.

The D.I.Y. Pacific Chowder Kit comes complete with the Creamy Chowder Base containing pink shrimp meat, clam meat, corn, carrots, celery and dill. It also comes with 2 pounds of Wild Rockfish Fillets Skinless and ½ pound of Wild Ling Cod.

The kit came with easy to understand cooking instructions and the delicious chowder was cooked in under 30 minutes. As it makes 10 servings of chowder and their were only the two of us; we portioned it off in to our own containers and put it into the freezer to enjoy from time to time over the next few months.

Intercity Packers, BC’s only fully integrated supplier of custom-cut meat and seafood has been pivoted to a new sales channel to keep product moving and their employees working. Customers are able to select curbside free pickup from Intercity Packer’s location at Number 6 Road in Richmond, or contactless, refrigerated home delivery throughout Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.

Every purchase of their D.I.Y. Pacific Chowder Kit this month puts $20 in the Intercity Tip Jar, which donates the funds to the Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown.
