Tasting New Dishes at Fable Kitchen

It has been a couple of years since my last visit to Chef Trevor Bird’s notable Kitsilano restaurant, I had the pleasure to dine there a few nights ago to explore the restaurant once again and try some of the teams latest new dishes.

Cornbread

Cornbread with honey butter, loved the moist cornbread and the tasty butter.

Charred beets

Charred beets with smoked almond cheese, crispy cauliflower & beet relish, loved the flavours of the house-made smoked almond cheese!

Crushed New Potatoes

Crushed New Potatoes with shallots sofritto, Macedonian feta, house-cured bacon, pistachio; these potatoes were addictive, so good.

Gnocchi

Gnocchi with roasted squash puree – a delicious dish!

Cavatelli

Cavatelli with mushrooms and a rich butter sauce, another winner.

Pan seared Ling Cod

Pan seared Ling Cod on a celeriac remoulade, topped with Atlantic Sturgeon Caviar; this was outstanding and my favourite dish of the night.

Grilled Striploin

Grilled Striploin with black pepper jam and wild mushrooms; the house-made black pepper jam gave this dish a huge WOW factor.

Lemon Meringue Parfait

Lemon Meringue Parfait with earl grey ice cream

Squash Cake

Squash Cake with vanilla ice cream and squash mousse; loved the savoury spin on this delicious dessert.
