Visited The Bibo recently to taste some new pastas, pizza and desserts on their latest menu.
1st dish:
The Gnocchi ala Romana a Roman style gnocchi made with semolina flour, Parmigiano reggiano and pecorino cheese, without sauce, cooked in the wood oven
2nd dish:
The Paglia e Fieno a handmade tagliatelle with fresh tomatoes and ricotta
3rd dish:
Formula One on a whole wheat crust, topped with Buffala mozzarella and tomato sauce!
4th dish:
Orange Crostada with vanilla ice cream
5th dish:
Affogato with vanilla ice cream and espresso
My take:
I loved the Gnocchi ala Romana, such a unique dish and one that I haven’t seen or tried before. The Paglia e Fieno using their inhouse handmade tagliatelle was unique and colorful. The pizza that I tried was their Whole Wheat variation which is only available on Fridays, the pizza dough is more dense than the usual, with good flavour balancing out the toppings! For a sweet finish, I loved the Orange Crostata from the crust to the pastry, along with the vanilla ice cream on the side with its swirled orange rind covering! The Affogato is a personal favourite which I have enjoyed here in the past.
