Around Vancouver in the Acura RDX 2025

I recently spent some time test driving the 25RDX Platinum Elite A-Spec in Vancouver while visiting some new and not so new restaurants. I’ve test driven various models of the RDX over the years and it has always been a well-built vehicle.

One restaurant that I hadn’t been to in what has turned out to be about 5 years was South Granville neighbourhood hot spot Mazahar Kitchen (1488 W 11th Ave).. Supported by the community this restaurant focusses on healthy Lebanese dishes. I visited for dinner one evening for some healthy eats and they were very accommodating with some modifications.

Muhammara – Fresh red peppers, walnuts, tahini and pomegranate molasses (normally comes with pita, they substituted multigrain crackers per my request).

Fattouch Salad – Chopped fresh veggies with lemon and extra virgin olive oil dressing, topped with pita chips, sumac, and pomegranate molasses.

Shish Tawouk – Marinated chicken breast skewers.

Most of their menu is either gluten free or can be made gluten free upon request.

The RDX car had a great Technology package which is an important addition when getting this vehicle that includes front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert and for a car of this calibre had great fuel efficiency. It’s also got enough room in the front row for the driver and passenger to enjoy the ride.

The next day I drove out to Langley for dinner to one of my favourite Thai spots, Ban Chok Dee  (20563 Douglas Cres, Langley) as I enjoyed some of my favourite dishes.

Here I had all my favourite dishes that included the Chicken Satay with peanut sauce, Garden Rolls, Tom Yum Soup, Papaya Salad, Grilled Salmon in green curry, Power Greens in peanut sauce, along with their Thai Riceberry rice and some brown rice.

The next afternoon I headed over to Victoria Drive to see a favourite in transition, for several years I had been patronizing Chau Veggie Express, it was my favourite for Vietnamese veggie dishes. The family decided it was time for a transformation and they refined their restaurant by changing their name in focus.

It is now Chau Café (5052 Victoria Drive) and modified the concept with many of the same delicious dishes people love and added some meat proteins and eggs plus a full on coffee and tea bar. I had the Mai Mai Plate with grilled chicken thigh, brown rice, quinoa, broccoli and peanut sauce; I also had Vietnamese Cortado.

Even the back row has a good amount of legroom giving your passengers comfortability for a short ride around the city or a longer ride to the suburbs.

The next day for lunch I drove over to the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood for lunch at Maizal RMF (2815 Main Street), the Mexican eatery has been going strong for the past 8 years and it is my go to for their delicious Tortilla Soup and tacos. I had a trio of their hand-made corn tortillas with plantain, Vegan chorizo and Asado. Also had a bowl of their delicious Tortilla soup.

I really enjoyed the 25RDX Platinum Elite A-Spec was a great car to drive around the city.
