“FieldTrips” is either a day trip or a few days where I visit food areas of interest which may include farm visits, producers, wineries, restaurants and/or other places that people can visit. This is about offering Vancouver Foodster readers a chance to get out of town and take a “Field Trip” for the day or a few days to explore, learn, taste and experience.
Field Trip to the Naramata Inn
Recently stayed at the beautiful historic Naramata Inn located in Naramata, BC where this historical 12 room inn has been operating since 1908 in the heart of wine country situated on the Naramata bench in the Okanagan. While recently updated with all of today’s comforts, the rooms still maintain Naramata Inn’s original historic charm through period details like carpentry and clawfoot or deep soaker tubs. The Inn features an on site restaurant offering Wednesday – Sunday dinner and the Eliza Wine Bar open daily for share plates and wines for dinner.
Lawrence joined me for a wonderful couple of days, our room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed and a large sundeck.
We enjoyed a complimentary continental breakfast each day that included yogurt parfaits with house-made granola, home baked scones and croissants, fruits, cheeses and meats along with hot coffee.
We also experienced their Eliza wine bar where we had a delicious dinner of shared plates. We had the beautiful Heirloom Tomato, Summer Squash on labneh, Smoked Artic Char, and Beef Short Rib.
Stay tuned for my next Field Trip outside of Vancouver.
