Afternoon Tea is an art and should be an extraordinary experience one that you will cherish. Vancouver has some wonderful places for you to indulge in an Afternoon Tea experience. Each of the places is unique in what they offer along with the type of service and selection of sandwiches, pastries and desserts. I am on a journey around the city to find these extraordinary places.
Experienced the beautiful and delicious ‘Matcha Afternoon Tea’ experience in the Sophie Restaurant at The Tokyo Edition Hotel, Ginza in Tokyo recently.
This tea service is featured in their Sophie Restaurant and in the 90 minutes allotment you can enjoy unlimited drinks (hot or cold) from their menu offerings to pair with the matcha savouries and sweets.
Lawrence joined me and we each chose a different selection of drinks. We both enjoyed a welcome tea before enjoying our drinks.
1st Tea drinks:
I had the Matcha genmaicha
Lawrence had a Passion fruits jasmine
We were then served a tray filled with tasty matcha based savouries, fresh whole wheat scones and then a tray filled with matcha sweets.
2nd Tea drinks:
Matcha latte iced for me
Iced Hibiscus for Lawrence
3rd Tea drinks:
Iced Green pomegranate for me
Twilight coolness for Lawrence
We also ordered the add-on matcha scones (additional charge) two types made with high-grade matcha from Uji, Japan and area we had visited earlier in our trip.
I loved all of the savouries, my favourite from the sweets included the matcha orange tart and the matcha pudding.
