One of my favourite foodie events of the year is returning on October 12 after a few years hiatus, it has the same premise as previous years where some of the best chefs across Vancouver as well as BC serves up their chowders to guests. They get judged by a panel of esteemed judges, as well guests can vote for their favourites for People’s Choice. There are beer pairings and other beverages to be had. This year the venue has changed and it will be held on the UBC Campus at the Robert H Lee Alumni Centre.
See the last chowder chowdown that I attended
The Vancouver Chowder Chowdown is set to feature twelve accomplished chefs, ready to battle it out for the title of 2023 Chowder Champion. Each chef will be serving up their signature ocean-friendly chowder, complete with Ocean Wise Recommended seafood. Attendees will have the chance to sample each chef’s delectable creation and – at the end of the night – cast their vote for this year’s People’s Choice Award.
