Advice: No reservations, walk-ins welcome.

Specializing in Syrian and Mediterranean cuisine, it’s all made from scratch at this Granville Street eatery by owner/chef Nader Abdullah. Their interior is designed after the famous Azem Palace in Damascus city, with a modern touch to give their customers a tasty of history.

I have tasted a variety of their different dishes that included a tasting platter with Kibbeh, falafel, dolma, tabbouleh, Arabesque fries, mashawi (chicken and beef skewers), mutabal and labneh; as well as their refreshing Tamarind drink.

They also make a wide range savouries including manousheh, wraps, salads, dips and more, and have many repeat customers coming from all over the city.

I have had a taste of their house-made baklava having the Syrian Baklava circle cookie. They make a wide range of desserts that include other types of Baklava plus a variety of drinks from espresso drinks to traditional Mesopotamian hot and cold drinks.

This is a great spot to visit for lunch, dinner or late night for some Middle Eastern specialties as well as desserts.
