Advice: Advance reservations are suggested., closed Sunday’s.
Specializing in Japanese cuisine with a focus on sushi and sashimi. owner/chef Hilary Nguy is dedicated to creating dishes with simplicity, finess and flavour. I enjoyed a delicious dinner with my food writer friend Tara Lee in this gem in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood.
We both loved the Dungeness Crab Sunomono with Harusame noodles, and yuzu vinaigrette.
The Chawanmushi Dashi Egg Custard and madai was another beautiful dish and even for someone like me who doesn’t like egg, I thought the dish was delicious.
The highlight was the Nigiri Set that featured 8 pieces selected by the chef and each one was special. The set came with a small salad and miso soup. As it is noted as Chef’s selection, what you are served may change from time to time,
We also had a couple tasty rolls, the Super Tuna Roll with marinated Negitoro, Tuna Tataki, soy paper, greens; along with the King Oshi roll with shiso, serrano and tare.
This is a restaurant where you are going to want to take a loved one, treat a friend or your business associates. I would suggest making a reservation and then be ready to savour each and every dish.
