Specializing in Greek cuisine of the island of Evia where Chef and Owner Eleni grew up. The decor of the Kitsilano restaurant that opened earlier in the year is bright and welcoming and my friends and I loved everything that we had.
We started off with the Tiganopsomo (pan fried flatbread stuffed with feta) is a tasty dish which is great for sharing that originates in the Northern region of Evia in Greece and is Chef Eleni’s childhood favourite dish which is a must try.
The Beets salad was unique and delicious with beets, arugula, goat cheese, balsamic glaze; we also had the delicious Baked Feta with oven baked feta with tomato, peppers, olive oil, oregano, and chilli flakes; as well as the Zucchini Keftedes, another unique and tasty dish with Zucchini, bread, egg, herbs, cheese, and onion.
The White Prawn Saganaki was outstanding with Tiger prawns, ouzo, lemon, olive oil, oregano, onion, cheese cubes (kefalograviera); as were the Lamb Chops that were tender, juicy and flavourful. The Kalamari was perfect for sharing, with a squeeze of lemon it was very tasty.
For dessert, we had the delicious Portokalopita (Orange cake) a popular dessert in Greece along with the exquisite Galaktobouriko (Filo with vanilla custard filling) a regional dish from Eleni’s home area.
This is a neighborhood gem worthy of your patronage, I can’t wait to return to discover more of their Greek dishes.
