Dining Inside Moltaqa Restaurant

In this ongoing series I will be featuring restaurants and cafés that do not have the ability to provide outside patio space due to their locations. Some of these restaurants had temporarily closed during the covid19 pandemic and others had offered takeout and delivery. Now that they have passed the reopening phase, they are excited to welcome guests to return to dine in.

Here is one of the restaurant meals that I have experienced recently.

Dining Inside Moltaqa Restaurant

Enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant recently which specializes in Moroccan cuisine. The Gastown neighborhood restaurant is a cozy spot with Moroccan themed dividers and spacing between the tables following the governments protocols.

Flambe tableside experiences are one of things that they specialize along with made from scratch dishes. All their meat is halal. Morrocan tagines are cooked and served in traditional conical lid pots.

Moroccan Mint Tea – served in the traditional way

Bessara V, GF – Traditional Moroccan green pea soup very tasty.

Homemade Moroccan Semolina Bread – Hand made baked in house in small batch

Roasted Carrot, Lemon Salad with feta – a traditional Moroccan roasted carrot salad, spices, lemon, cilantro (taster size) which I loved.

Fresh Green Peppers, Tomatoes, Chermoula, Turnip – with fresh lemon, first cold press middle eastern olive olive, Moroccan spice mix (taster size)

Beet Salad – Roasted red beets, mint, orange zest dressing (taster size)

Roasted Broccoli with Harissa – Home made Harissa sauce, Moroccan spices, tasty and healthy.

Crispy Pita with cumin salt and olive oil, addictive and you will want more.

Baked Portobello with Bulgarian sheep cheese, a delicious vegetarian option.

Moroccan Rack of Lamb, Cocnac Flambed tableside, a wow experience for sure, full 8 chop rack, can serve two people, 14oz meat, zucchini, potatoes, pomegranate.

Cote du Rhone Wine perfectly paired with the Rack of Lamb

Duck Confit Tagine – Halal Cardamom Duck leg confit, duck consome sauce, vegetable; such a delicious tagine.

Cheese Plate with dried fruits, preserves and olives – Epoisses APP- France, Saint Marcelin IDP -France, Smoked Gorgonzola-Canada, Sheeps Feta -Bulgaria.

Flambed Moroccan Crepes Suzette with rose preserve and cardamom – Grand Marnier table side flambéd crepes, filed with rose flower preserve, Moroccan spice; served with Cardamom Vanilla Ice cream; a delicious wow experience to end an outstanding dinner.
