First Taste of Moltaqa Moroccan Restaurant

It’s all about traditional Moroccan dishes and a beautiful dining room to match at this newly opened eatery in Yaletown.

Owner, Mimo has done a lot of the construction as well as the interiors on his own as well as painted many pictures that will adorn the walls at his Moroccan restaurant. The room is close to double in size from the original location in Gastown and seats approx 40 people. This new location also features a long bar for drinks as well as a Moroccan tea bar towards the rear of the restaurant. There is also a lounge area towards the front of the restaurant for patrons to enjoy cocktails while waiting for a table.

When it comes to drinks, guests are able to enjoy a larger wine menu and an updated cocktail program as well, alongside a selection of Moroccan tea and sweets.

I’ve visited for dinner and enjoyed their Zalouk Eggplant Pepper Stew, Mujadara Lentil Stew and Pastilla with chicken and almonds.

Loved both the Fresh Stealhead Trout Tagine with harissa and chermoula as well as the Cardamom duck with figs, pear and sesame tagine; along with a side of the vegetable Couscous.

For dessert, the Moroccan Cherry Crepes Suzette was a wonderful and delicious experience; we also enjoyed some Moroccan cookies to finish our delicious dinner.
