With it’s focus on Afghan cuisine, the owners have created a beautiful decorated room with a traditional Afghan seating area, as well as a modern seating area, high ceilings and an Inventive cocktail menu. The recipes are from the owners mother who leads the kitchen, authentic and bold dishes. I have dined here a couple of times within a week, first time Zahra joined me to share many dishes and the second time Lawrence joined me to try more. It is rare to find Afghan cuisine in our part of the world, so the recent opening of this restaurant is welcoming.

Boulany

Mantu Afghan style dumplings

Gold Wedges

The Boulany is a stuffed naan filled with potatoes and herbs and perfect for sharing it is served with a couple of their hot chutneys. Mantu Afghan style dumplings is standout dish filled with spiced beef, topped with split peas + yogurt; the Gold Wedges were walnut spread rubbed potato wedges another great sharing dish.

House Special

Carrot Ginger

I have tried a couple of their fresh squeezed and pressed juices the House Special fresh press pomegranate and orange and another with carrot and ginger.

Naan and Kebabs

Naan bread

Eggplant Borani

Lamb Shank

Naan and Kebabs, this dish comes with your choice of beef, lamb or chicken or you can do half/half of two of the meats, we had the marinated lamb and chicken kebabs, served with Afghan style naan, and Afghan rice. Eggplant Borani was outstanding, pan-seared eggplant in tomato blend, topped with yogurt, served with rice; The Lamb Shank “the softie” tender and delicious with potato borani.

Safron Tea

We enjoyed a pot of the Safron Tea which was the perfect accompaniment to the dishes.

Firni

Mum’s Secret cake

Sheer Yakh Rosewater Ice Cream

All 3 of the desserts on offer are exceptional and each so different, the Firni (Afghan milk pudding); Mum’s Secret cake in a 3 milk sauce; and the Sheer Yakh Rosewater Ice Cream that is served with dense cream, pistachios + cardamom.

This is a gem of a restaurant worth visiting, take your friends or family, and enjoy!
