Vancouver Greek Summerfest July 7-17

The 30th Annual Greek Summer Festival starts tomorrow July 7 and runs for 10 days through to July 17. This is an exciting annual celebration of food, entertainment, and family fun — from the famous “BBQ Lamb” and “Loukoumades” (a specialty Greek dessert) to the dozens of live singers and dancers on the Performance Stage. The festival is open daily from 12 noon to 11pm.

There is no admission fee. Once on site, attendees have the opportunity to purchase a variety of traditional Greek dishes freshly created or cooked on location. Visit often and try a different dish each time. You can even order a full or half lamb to enjoy with friends.

The main stage is the entertainment focus of the festival. It boasts great local cultural dance groups, offering our neighbours a chance to showcase their talents in between the Greek music and dancing that is featured on the schedule.

I talked about the festival in details on my radio segment on CKNW Best and the Foodiest which you can listen to here

Greek Summerfest is based in East Vancouver on the border with Burnaby, and is attended by almost 40,000 people from all areas of the culturally diverse Lower Mainland, as well as many visitors from around the world.  Arrange to meet your friends, family, and neighbours at their festival.
