Advice: Join the line-up for delicious treats. Take ‘n Bake selection of entries for takeout.
Located in the Wesbrook Village neighborhood close to the UBC campus is a star studded bakery café that is full of unique delectable treats. I have visited a couple of times since Rose Concepcion and her partner Thuy Kelp opened their popular bakeshop. This is a sweet spot filled with baked goods will all sorts of names and with that comes so many stories.
On my first visit I enjoyed some of their baked goods treats, the Double Chocolate Ranger Cookie, the Annie Oakley cookie and the Lemon almond shortbread.
On the next visit, I was in for lunch having a delicious Tuna Sandwich a Mediterranean inspired mix of tuna, aioli, veggies, and preserved lemon on organic Pioneer Grain Bread, served with spinach salad, along with an Espresso Macchiato and a Lunar Coconut Puff. In addition to their sandwiches, salads, baked goods which include red velvet cupcakes, organic almond croissants, hello Dolly’s, Danishes, cookies and more; they also offer a selection of house baked breads.
Additionally they offer a selection of entrée dishes which are frozen to take and bake at home, which is what I did tasting a multitude of selections, my favourites were the Turkey Pot Pie made with Rossdown Farms free-range turkey and veggies simmered in a veloute sauce and encased in a flaky pie crust; along with the Butternut Mac ‘n Cheese made with a Four cheese macaroni studded with roasted butternut squash; and the King Ranch Casserole of layered tortilla, Rossdown Farms chicken and green chilli-cheese casserole which was delicious.
You will find a pastry case filled with treats that change by the season for your indulgence, as well as a full espresso beverage line-up and other beverages.
