On June 16th I attended one of the best parties of the season held at Goldfish Kitchen in Yaletown. This was the 2nd Annual Summer Splash an event that raised over $35,000 to support the Vancouver Native Health Society.
I loved the Vietnamese Coffee that was served to guests as they entered the beautifully decorated room.
Guests were treated throughout the night to cocktails, champagne, lots of red and white wine and tasty small bites by Chef William Tse. My favourites included the Pulled Short Ribs Sliders, Pan Seared Hokkaido Scallops, Kaffir Lime Infused Prawns, Candied Wild BC Sockeye Salmon, Crispy Tofu with Sriracha Chile Jam, Banana Spring Rolls with caramel sauce and the White Chocolate Jasmine Crème Brulee.
Highlights of the evening include a glamorous bikini fashion show with designs from Sports Illustrated favourite Anna Kosturova, a lively salsa dance performance by the Mambo Hustlers and the evening’s grand live auction item – a painting titled ‘Bright Lights Over Only Seafoods’ donated by Tiko Kerr and valued at $6,500 – sold for an amazing $16,800.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the turnout and grateful for the many generous donations,” says Dotty Kanke, Goldfish owner and philanthropist. “Summer Splash was a huge success, and we thank everyone for their support.”
Summer Splash was a smashing success and the photo booth was a stupendous hit!
