Take yourself on a culinary journey to India in the West Point Grey neighbourhood of Vancouver. I had the pleasure to taste my way through a selection of Northern Indian dishes on the menu at this established restaurant that had relocated from Dunbar to West Broadway.
1st dish:
We started with the Mixed Grill Sizzler with assorted grilled pieces of meat: Tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, lamb tikka, prawns and fish
2nd dish:
Tofu & Vegetable Coconut Curry
Tofu & assorted vegetables cooked in a delicious and unique combination of spices, coriander & coconut milk
3rd dish:
Lamb Saag
Boneless lamb cooked with spinach and spices.
4th dish:
Chicken Korma
Boneless chicken cooked in a flavourful white cashew nut sauce, garnished with sliced almonds
5th dish:
Dal Turka
Washed moong lentils (yellow lentils) with Indian spices sauteed with onion, tomato, garlic
6th dish:
Pea Pulao
Basmati rice cooked with green peas
We then had a selection of these tasty breads.
Peshawari Naan
Stuffed with dry fruit, sweetened coconut with honey in flour baked in tandoor
Onion Parmesan Cheese Naan
Freshly chopped onion & parmesan cheese
Lachha Paratha
Multi layer while wheat crispy baked in tandoor
We finished off with one of their new desserts that is being added to the regular menu
Shaki dessert featured a combination of a few of their other desserts together.
