Take yourself on a culinary journey to Nepal and the Himalayas in the Westend neighbourhood of downtown Vancouver. I had the pleasure to taste my way through a selection of dishes on the menu at this established restaurant on Davie in the Westend.
1st dish:
A selection of their Mo Mo dumplings, we had a mix of fried, steamed and Nepali chili with chicken, tofu and lamb so that we could try more and all were so good.
2nd dish:
Mustang Wings marinated chicken wings with yogurt, ginger, garlic, spices, flavourful.
3rd dish:
Nepali Chili Fish was a standout stir-fry with onions, peppers, soy base sauce, spices & herbs.
4th dish:
Chicken Grill marinated overnight in yogurt, ginger-garlic, herbs & spices. Grilled and served with pulau rice.
5th dish:
Mix Vegetable Curry with cauliflower, potato, broccoli, beans, creamy tomatoes & onion sauce.
6th dish:
Mustard Prawns Curry – flavourful dish with ginger, garlic & mustard, onion, tomato and spices.
7th dish:
Tingmo -, tumeric steamed Tibetan wheat bread
8th dish:
Chow Mein Noodles with paneer – Stir-fry chowmein with carrots, cabbage, peppers, onions, ginger, garlic, & soy sauce, herbs & spice.
9th dish:
Sautéed spinach – Fresh spinach saute’ with potatoes, cumin, mustard, onion, ginger & garlic.
10th dish:
Coconut rice
11th dish:
Coconut rice pudding – Traditional and very popular Nepali sweet dish. Made with rice and coconut milk and flavored with cardamoms, raisins, cashews and a gentle spread of coconut flakes.
