Vancouver Sundae Challenge

Welcome to the 8th Annual Vancouver Foodster Sundae Challenge.  Cafes from all over the city were invited to enter their Sundae creations into this challenge. Each cafe will be featuring their Sundae creations on their menu from August 3-28, 2022.

How Does this all Work? For the public challenge, you are invited to go out and order any or all of the sundae creations in this challenge, then you decide who you think has the best sundae creation for the People’s Choice award winners. 

Share your experiences: Tweet (and don’t forget to tweet or instagram your photos) throughout the challenge, our twitter and instagram address is @vanfoodster and the hashtag is #SundaeChallengeYVR please include this hashtag in all your tweets, instagram stories, posts and other social shares during the challenge.

Voting criteria –  some things to help you judge your favourite sundae creations – keep these things in mind: originality, creativity, uniqueness, traditional, non-traditional, price, value and most importantly taste.

How to VOTE :

  1. Look for our Sundae challenge posters in each of the participating cafes
  2. Scan the QR code and Vote for your favourites from August 3-28, 2022

Get some friends together and make a day or night of it, visit 2 places or more to taste the different sundae creations or go solo or with a friend– just remember to VOTE for your favourite

Description: A delectable combination of vanilla and pink peppercorn infused gelato, summer peaches and crispy meringue, served in a waffle bowl.

True Blue Sundae Bliss

Description:  Our True Blue Sundae Bliss is the definition of an authentic BC Summer.

We start it all off with a delightful hand formed blueberry lavender rustic tart made with a hint of fresh lemon.  We top that off with the perfect scoop of our Vanilla Bean Gelato and a dollop of fresh whipped cream.  To finish it all off we delicately  drizzle our in house made blueberry lavender compote and a slice of candied lemon to entice all of your taste buds.

Ingredients: Fresh local blueberries and lavender from Richmond BC, a delicate hand formed rustic tart made with real butter and topped with lavender sugar, fresh whipped cream and a slice of candied lemon.

Offered: Sunday – Thursday between noon – 7 pm and Friday – Saturday between noon and 8 pm.

Blue Hawaiian Sundae

Description: Combining the Tropical flavours into the fresh coconut with a freshness of coconut butterfly pea jello, pineapple, mangoes in syrup, Coconut icecream and Topped with banana bruleé and taro Mont Blanc
