Conquered all six of the burgers on the Burger Bender menu at Match Eatery & Public House in Squamish the other day. It was a feast for the eyes as well as our stomachs as we tasted all the burgers and sides. This special burger menu is on now for a limited time. I was quite impressed with most of them, here are my favourites and then some.

1) BBQ RANCH HAND

This one was top notch and my favourite, the pretzel bun makes this burger fly; it’s got a 6oz charbroiled, steak spice chuck burger, cheddar cheese, coleslaw, onion ring, pulled pork, spicy bbq sauce, pretzel bun. Onion rings as the side.

2) NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN

It’s got the right amount of heat, flavour and was my 2nd favourite but it is a tie! Double breaded spicy chicken, coleslaw, soft potato roll. Yam fries as the side.

3) SUNNY SIDE LUTHER

Most who know me personally would never think that this would be one of my favourites, there you go, it ties for 2nd place favourite; minus the egg for course (Lawrence got the egg); the flavours of the donut with the burger patty and the bacon was incredible; came with a griddled smash patty, American cheese, smoked bacon, fried egg, between two maple-bacon glazed donuts. Tater tots as the side.

4) GRILLED CHICKEN GREEN GODDESS

This was the healthiest of the burgers that we tried with fire-grilled chicken breast, avocado, goat’s cheese, butter lettuce, tomato, sprouts, pickled red onion, green goddess dressing, multi-grain bun. Mixed green salad as the side.

5) FILET O’ CRISPY FISH

This was a messy burger when I attempted to cut it. Hand dipped, beer battered Atlantic haddock, tartar sauce, slaw, butter lettuce, old bay mayo, dill pickles, lemon, brioche bun. Hand cut fries.

6) FOOD TRUCK DOUBLE DOWN

This one was my least fave burger as the meat was too dry for my liking, but the dirty fries added some pizzaz. Two 3oz griddled smash patties, American cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, pickles, tomato, special sauce, soft potato roll. Dirty Fries as the side.

If you live in the Metro Vancouver area you have a choice of three locations to visit to try this Burger Bender menu.
