First Taste of Linh Café at Vancouver House

Specializing in French Vietnamese cuisine, owners Chef Tai Nguyen and his wife Linh have opened this beautiful restaurant at Vancouver House in the Beach District of downtown Vancouver.

This is their second location for the couple who has created a devoted clientele since starting off in Kitsilano over 6 years ago. The new space at Vancouver House has been in the planning stages for 4 years and is 4-1/2 times the size of the original and it’s been packed almost daily since opening.

Over the years I had tried much of their menu at the Kitsilano location, here at their downtown location I recently tried a selection of delicious items.

The kitchen is a chef’s dream, large with various cooking stations throughout including 2 large 80 gallon pots for the Pho, copper pans for cooking, pastry section for pastry chef @momobakesyvr

Shared the house favourite Nem-Cha Gio Spring Rolls filled with shrimp, pork, wood-ear mushroom, and glass noodles. The House-made bread was also very good and went well for dipping in the sauces.

Loved the Cassoulet with Duck confit, house made sausage, white beans. Also, loved the Braised Short Ribs that were slow braised in a delicious peppercorn sauce, with honey glazed carrots.

They feature a nice selection of wines from BC and France.

The Desserts Platter featuring pastry chef @momobakesyvr featured Palmiers, pumpkin pie, chocolate tart and lemon tarts. I also tried their Chocolate Macarons.
