Vancouver Sangria Challenge Winners 2021

The  Vancouver Foodster 4th Sangria Challenge was a success featuring sangria creations from restaurants around Vancouver. Each restaurant featured their sangria creation from June 11- July 4, 2021. . Our media judging panel determined the ultimate winners of the challenge, and this was quite the task as each judge who tasted each creation with a rigorous process based on taste, originality/uniqueness and presentation/appearance.

Description: The colours of freshness summer is here in this sangria flight. Combination of our local spirits, wine and fruits. There are 3 glasses of sangria on the flight red/ pink/ orange , yellowish green, blue/ purple.

Ingredients:

Fresh fruits- lime, lemon, strawberry, blood orange, orange, pomegranate, kiwi, raspberry, blueberry.

Mint leaves, butterfly pea flower syrup, strawberry syrup, lemon saffron syrup, apple spritz, Lebel Vodka, Eve Gin and Pinot Gris and Lychee liqueur .

Our media judging panel determined the ultimate winners of the challenge, and this was quite the task as each judge who tasted each creation with a rigorous process based on taste, originality/uniqueness and presentation/appearance.

Each media judge scored each creation with a maximum of 40 points as follows: Overall Taste 20 points, Originality and Uniqueness 10 points, Presentation and Appearance 10 points. The highest number of points a challenge creation could have been awarded is 120 points.

Our Media judges for this challenge were: Brenda Yim, Tony Huynh and David Peng.
