First Taste of L’Onore Pizza

Specializing in Italian inspired Pizza along with other dishes which includes salads, meatballs, Turkish Pide and more; they opened last month in the Victoria Hill neighborhood of New Westminster.

Abhiyan Rajhans is the chef and owner, with Kath Lousada as the Manager.

The restaurant project took about 5 years to come to fruition from an idea to finding the location and putting it all together with the help of The Fifteen Group.

It’s all about sourdough pizzas, with classic pizza flavours complementing unique ingredients, as well as vegan and gluten-free options. With a focus on passionately-made meals celebrating local flavours, L’Onore offers indoor dining (when permitted) as well as a beautiful outdoor patio space, alongside extensive takeout options.  Guests can choose from a range of appetizers – such as wings in locally made sauces, desserts, a thoughtful drinks list with crafted cocktails, wine and local beer.

I have tried several dishes here including the Veggie Pizza Fritta which is their pizza dough stuffed with Peperonata (Red Pepper, Eggplant, Onions, Celery, Kalamata Olives, Capers, Basil), Grass Fed Mozzarella and then deep fried. The tasty Romaine & Parmesan salad with Romaine, Julienne Carrots, Fennel, Kalamata Olives, Confit Garlic, Lemon, Parmesan. The Meatballs in a tasty tomato sauce. The delicious Lambada Pide a Turkish Pide made with Lamb mince meat, red onions, parsley, fresh lemon and Labneh Sauce.  This pide was good with their sourdough crust and tasty toppings. Hope to see other pides on their menu as specials from time to time.

I also had these delicious pizzas, the Cacioepepe with a cream sauce base, Fior di Latte, Pecorino Romano, Black Pepper, EVO, Maldon flaked Salt; The Rocketman with Organic Tomato Sauce, Fior di Latte, Fontina, Shaved Grana Padano, Confit Garlic, Arugula, Balsamic Glaze, EVO, Maldon flaked Salt; and the Limited Edition Snow White Pizza with Organic Tomato Sauce, Garlic, Oregano, Bacon and Fresh Burrata garnished with hot honey.

For dessert although I tried the Berrymisu, my favourite was this classic Tiramisu.

About the pizzas, loved the sourdough crust, perfectly cooked on the bottom, really tasty dough, delicious high-quality ingredients for the toppings. The tomatoes for their organic tomato sauce come from an organic farm in California that prides itself in having 50 farmers on the farm. They also import cheese from all over the world including Italy and Australia.
