The Vancouver Foodster Cookie Challenge was a great success featuring unique creations at bakeries and cafes around Vancouver. Each establishment featured their creation on their menu from April 20 – May 12, 2018. and their customers voted for their favourites daily throughout the challenge for their People’s Choice favourites.
Our media judging panel determined the ultimate winners of the challenge, and this was quite the task as each judge who tasted each creation with a rigorous process based on taste, originality/uniqueness and presentation/appearance.
Each media judge scored each creation with a maximum of 40 points as follows: Overall Taste 20 points, Originality and Uniqueness 10 points, Presentation and Appearance 10 points. The highest number of points a challenge creation could have been awarded is 120 points.
Our Media judges for this challenge were: Louisa Chan, Karl Kliparchuk and Jacqueline Chui

Tartine Bread and Pies

Mystery Cookie
Price: $2.95
Created by: Executive Baker Moriah Lutley
Description: The Mystery Cookie is a play on the “Compost Cookie” from Christina Tosi, Momofuku Milk Bar. We tweaked the ratios and added a couple more of our favorite ingredients. We called it the Mystery Cookie because you would never be able to guess all the ingredients. It’s unassuming in appearance and you can’t tell which ingredients are in each bite. We would never have thought that this combination of flavors would taste quite so delicious and become slightly addictive. It’s salty, sweet, crunchy and chewy all at once. They pair well with a glass of cold milk or a strong coffee.
Offered: All the time
