Executive Chef Wayne Sych launched his fall menu recently and I was invited to taste some of their new dishes as well try some of my old favourites. My friend and I shared all the dishes except for the soup where we each enjoyed our own bowl.
1st dish:
Fraser Valley Squash Soup ginger, coconut, mascarpone and it was delicious with the light touch of cream drizzled on top (new dish).
2nd dish:
Cajun Crab & Corn Fritters old bay spice, roasted jalapeno aioli and lemon wedge, best to squeeze the lemon over the fritters (old favourite).
3rd dish:
Miso Marinated Sablefish with sesame quinoa, mushrooms, edamame, kale, sweet soy, and it is one of my favourites here, the fish was tender and buttery in flavour (old favourite).
4th dish:
Braised Lamb Shank scalloped potatoes, swiss chard, pan jus, this was a hearty dish and one that perfect for the fall/winter season, the lamb was perfectly cooked with the yummy puree (new dish).
5th dish:
Balsamic Glazed King Mushrooms swiss chard, farro, roasted squash, lemon garlic emulsion, a vegetarian offering (new dish).
6th dish:
Caramelized Jumbo Scallops (new dish)
7th dish:
Truffle Parmesan Fries (old favourite).
