Tasting Plates Kitislano West

On September 30, 2015 we presented our Tasting Plates Kitislano West event that showcased 5 restaurants and establishments located on Broadway and West 4th Avenue between Macdonald and Dunbar. Guests began their tasting tour at the beatiful Essentia Cafe in the heard of Kitsilano.

Our Tasting Cup:

Freddo Cappuccino – authentically european, an iced version of cappuccino.  Double espesso shot on ice topped with a thick layer of cold whipped milk.  *Stir often to experience the full flavour.

Con pana – a popular italian pick me up.  Single shot espresso served hot topped with whipped cream.


Our Tasting Plate:

Pumpkin Cheesecake with ginger crust, topping, white chocolate pumpkin praline, sprinkled cinnamon.

Mango shortcake, milk soaked vanilla sponge, layers of mango mousse topped with mango mirror.

The No Bull Burger: Like your grandma’s homemade burger, but vegetarian!  Local green leaf lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, vegan mayo, and cheddar cheese on a whole wheat bun.

BBQ Tempeh Burger: An organic fermented soy bean tempeh patty, considered a superfood and used by the Indonesian’s for hundreds of years, with local green leaf lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, smoky bbq sauce, vegan mayo, and cheddar cheese on a whole wheat bun.

Baked French Fries: Try a fry without the deep fry!


Our Tasting Cup:

Super Food Smoothie: a delicious mix of kale, spinach, carrots, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas.  Sweetened with a touch of honey.

Mini Broadway Burger:

Guacamole, Roasted Red Peppers, House Cured Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato


Smoked Chicken Drumbette:

Sour Glazed and Sesame Seed Asian Slaw


Quinoa Salad:

Roasted Beets, Grape Tomatoes, English Cucumbers, Green Onion, IPA Dressing

Local Rose Juice – Grapefruit, apple, burdock and rosemary

The Original – Apple, lemon, ginger, kale, cucumber, parsley, celery

Dads Juice – Beet, carrot, apple,kale, ginger and turmeric


Our Tasting Plate:

Mini Acai Bowls – Forzen Acai blended with raw cocoa, maca, our homemade nut milk and frozen banana.

The restaurants featured many unique and tasty dishes to our guests to eat and drink throughout the event.
