On July 3rd, I attended the wonderful gala, it was a culinary tour of South Asian cuisine curated by Vikram Vij held at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden.
This was the first day of the annual Indian Summer festival that featured musical artists, patrons and special guests. Food stations were featured throughout the garden with culinary delights from India to China to Japan, all created by the city’s top restaurants (Blue Water Cafe, Bob Likes Thai Food, Bao Bei, Atithi, Cafe Kathmandu and Vij’s), paired with fine beverages including award-winning wines and signature cocktails.
I enjoyed the delicious dishes that included Chicken Tiki from Vij’s Restaurant, Mianh Kham and a spicy Papaya Salad from Bob Likes Thai Food, Puffed Rice and Plantain Chop from Atithi Indian Cuisine and the Buku Pandan Gelato from Bella Gelateria.
There were a variety of musicians performing and the event was sold out. You can find the other events in this festival here which goes through to July 12, 2014.
