I attended the annual Canadian Health Food Show at the Vancouver Convention Centre for the first time last week. For me this show was a dream come true, it was like a kid being in a candy store except this time it was like being in a gigantic Whole Foods. This show saw food producers and suppliers from across North America showing their products to mostly natural food retailers. It’s the largest show of its kind in Western Canada, 650 booths filled with all sorts of snacking foods, vitamins and more.
Walking the aisles I saw a multitude of products and tasted my way around, these are some of the products that stood out for me.
Martin’s Marvelous Naturals Refuel and Zesty Lemon Cookies which are locally produced; Toasted Coconut Tea Pops from DeeBee’s in Victoria. Alive & Radiant’s Kale Snacks, loved the Chockalet Chip Kale Krunch as well as the Red Peppercorn Hibiscus. I loved the Vega One All-In-One Meal Bars from local producer Vega. The Peanut Butter Whole Grain Clusters from US based Kind Snacks has been my go to breakfast yogurt topping for days. Edge Food Energy Bars from the Vancouver Island based The Edge Food Energy Company are great pre and post workout. Loved the Lime Chili, Swiss Cheese and Thai Curry with Lime Cassava chips from US based Wai Lana Chips. Found my favourite Maple Mixed Nuts from Quebec based Prana. Back to Breakfast with US based, Power O’s bean based cereals along with local producer Hippie Foods and their Vanilla Almond Granola along with their Hippie Cookies varieties, from the Chocolate Cashew to the Vanilla Almond these were great snacks.
Canadian Health Food Show is produced by the Canadian Health Food Association.
