Stumbling upon this Dosa house would have never happened had a chef friend not taken me. It’s in an area that’s off the grid and it’s a gem worth your discovery if you love South Indian eats and specifically Dosas. The eatery is owned by two chefs who specialize in making these fine crispy large flat crepes that are filled with delicious fillings. Sidd, Adam and his friend and I shared the unique and delicious Dhai Vada ($4.25) lentil flour doughnut soaked in yogurt with tamarind chutney; along with the Vegetable Utthappam ($8.95) which was very good with sambar & chutney and looked like what their version of a pizza would be. I then had the outstanding Jaipuri Dosa ($8.95) stuffed with potato masala, Indian cottage cheese, spices, onions, raisins & fried cashews. For dessert I had the Carrot Halwa ($2.99) served warm and delicious.
You will find a large selection of dosas both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, soups, appetizers, Indian breads, curries, the Utthappam corner, Biryani dishes and desserts. It’s inexpensive fare, off the beaten track and you are going to love the dishes.
