Afternoon Tea is an art and should be an extraordinary experience one that you will cherish. Vancouver has some wonderful places for you to indulge in an Afternoon Tea experience. Each of the places is unique in what they offer along with the type of service and selection of sandwiches, pastries and desserts. I am on a journey around the city to find these extraordinary places.
Here is the seventeenth of many places that I have visited recently. Soirette Macarons & Tea is located on Pender Street in Coal Harbour.
I was joined by my friend Kenji and we had their High Tea service for $27 per person. I had the Sangria Tea Blend and Kenji had another Tea. They have a wide selection of 30 teas and you can smell them and then choose from any one of their teas.
We were then invited to the Macaron display case to choose one macaron each which was then served to us along with the sweets selection. I chose the Almondine and Kenji had the Strawberry Cheesecake.
A three tiered plate filled with an assortment of Savories on the bottom plate that featured a roasted Mediterranean vegetable sandwich, salmon and dill quiche, tandoori chicken cucumber cup and Prosciutto P.L.T.; the middle plate featured mini cranberry scones with rose scented butter and raspberry jam along with citrus grilled cheese sandwich; and the top plate had a large selection of sweets that included a lemon meringue tart, chocolate pate, mini éclair, macaron, chocolate caramel bar and a Mousseline trifle.
My thoughts – From the assortment of savouries I loved the salmon and dill quiche, followed by the tandoori chicken cucumber cup and then the roasted Mediterranean vegetable sandwich. The home-made scones were delicious with their rose butter (topped with mini flowers) and raspberry jam. From the assortment of sweets, I loved the Mini éclair and the Mousseline trifle along with the almandine macaron the best followed by the chocolate caramel bar, lemon meringue tart, and chocolate pate.
