I have eaten a lot of desserts inside and outside Vancouver restaurants in the past year, these are the ones that are standouts, ones that you remember for a long time to come. This list is devoted to my favourite desserts that I have eaten in 2024 at restaurants that are still open to this day.

Olive Oil Pistachio Cake

Pistachio Chantilly, and Local Rhubarb Puree; an outstanding deconstructed cake.

Royal Thai Dessert

Quote the stunning dessert that featured 3 different dessert components that include a sticky rice stuffed inside a banana leaf with red bean, 23 gold leaf garnish, dessert with house-made smoked coconut ice cream (smoked for 2 hours using a candle); a Water chestnut with coconut cream dessert; and Petit Fours with Mungbean and honey soaked white powder cake (tastes like smoked shortbread).

Opera Cake

An Asian twist on the classic opera cake with Matcha and Red Bean Paste in the layers.

Blueberry Cheesecake 

was delicious with their own blueberries from the farm at the winery.

Matcha and Cherry

A delicious dessert as part of the Sakura Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea.

Osmalieh

Such a unique dessert made with crunchy layers of katiafi with a milky center, finished with pistachio and floral syrup.

Salt & Pepper Cake

A delicious and unique chocolate cake with chocolate ganache in the middle with a salt and pepper buttercream icing.

Orange Olive Oil Cake

Loved the citrus flavours with lemon whipped ricotta, and spiced candied orange.

Tamal Chocolate

We finished our memorable dining experience with the Tamal Chocolat that was served in a cacao bean smoked to our table.

Corn Cake

Outstanding dessert that was served on a bed of chantilly, topped with vanilla ice cream and popcorn.
