Afternoon Tea at Acre Through the Seasons

Afternoon Tea is an art and should be an extraordinary experience one that you will cherish. Vancouver has some wonderful places for you to indulge in an Afternoon Tea experience. Each of the places is unique in what they offer along with the type of service and selection of sandwiches, pastries and desserts. I am on a journey around the city to find these extraordinary places.

This is the first Afternoon Tea service since Acre Through the Seasons had opened and each of their tea experiences are set in a series that runs for 3-4 months. I enjoyed Series one that was themed: Forest, Forage & Wild Game; that is a very unique farm to table experience.

First off we selected our teas from the Tea Leaves & Co box I had the Organic Himalayan Mountain Tea while Lawrence had the BC Forest Tea.

The first set was a selection of savouries that included a delicious Caviar & Foie Gras Macaron, Iberico & Truffle Egg Salad Sandwich; and Rosemary Maple Scone that came with smoked salt whip butter and an Apricot lemon marmalade.

Next it was the delightful Spruce Tip Kafir Panna Cotta which was stunning as well as a palate cleanser before the next course.

Next was the Savoury and Sweets set that featured Birch Glazed Steelhead Gravlax and Goose Tartlet; and then finished with some sweet treats, my favourites were the Huckleberry Éclair, Ruby Chocolate Lavender Financier-Hazelnut and Raspberry Chocolate Truffle as well as the Wild Honey Blue Cheese Cheesecake.

Series 2 is on now and features another theme and unique experience for Afternoon Tea that takes place on Saturday and Sunday between 1pm – 4pm; I would suggest calling them and making an advance reservation.

Acre Through the Season Afternoon Tea is available exclusively Saturdays and Sundays, 1pm – 4pm, for $60 per person. Advance reservations are required and can be made online. The restaurant is located at 8400 West Rd #115, in Richmond; you can follow them on Instagram @acre.yvr
