Festival of Israeli Culture on May 14

An exciting one-day festival & market celebrating Israeli culture, food, music, and art is taking plate on Sunday May 14 from 11am – 5pm at the Jewish Community Centre (950 W. 41st Avenue in Vancouver).

The Festival of Israeli Culture, a one-day festival, is entirely free to all and promises to be a fun-filled celebration of music, dance, art, sports, and delicious food and drink! There will also be an Artisan Market where you can pick up all sorts of gifts and more!

Get ready for community drumming by the Drum Cafe, Israeli dance, Mediterranean belly dancing, Flamenco, and the Israeli Choir, followed by a sing-along with the well-known Israeli musician Elad Shtamer. And that’s not all! Join us for Maccabi-Mania with gym-based activities for all ages, the sassy sesame cooking workshop, intuitive painting, and calligraphy workshops.

For adults, there is a range of 19+ programs, including an Israeli wine tasting and cocktail party to sample some of the most delicious Arak-based cocktails (Arak is an alcoholic drink made primarily with aniseed and grapes) followed by an exhibition of Video Art from Bezalel Art University in Israel.

In addition to the performances and activities, the festival will have a market featuring a variety of eats from local vendors and food trucks, along with hand-poured candles, jewelry, clothing, arts and crafts, Judaica, and more!

The Festival of Israeli Culture is perfect for spending a spring day in Vancouver. Come and enjoy the music, dance, art, and food while immersing yourself in Israel’s vibrant and thriving culture. This event is not to be missed!

All events are free of charge. Food donations to the Jewish Food Bank are encouraged.
