Vancouver Negroni Challenge

Welcome to the Vancouver Foodster Negroni Challenge. I have invited restaurants and bars from all over the city to enter their Negroni creations into this challenge, some have entered their most popular creation from their menu and others created a special Negroni creation just for this challenge. Each restaurant and bar will be featuring their special creation on their menu from September 9 – October 2, 2022.

How Does this all Work? For the public challenge, you are invited to go out and order any or all of the Negroni creations in this challenge, then you decide who you think has the best creation for the People’s Choice award winners. 

Share your experiences: Share your photos on Instagram and TikTok throughout the challenge, our instagram and TikTok address is @vanfoodster and the hashtag is #NegroniChallengeYVR please include this hashtag in all your social media sharing during the challenge.

Voting criteria –  some things to help you judge your favourite Negroni creations – keep these things in mind: originality, creativity, uniqueness, traditional, non-traditional, price, value and most importantly taste.

How to VOTE :

  1. Look for our Negroni challenge posters at each of the participating restaurants and bars.
  2. Scan the QR code and Vote for your favourites from September 9 – October 2, 2022.

Get some friends together and visit 2 places or more to taste the different Negroni creations or go solo or with a friend– just remember to VOTE for your favourites

The Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver is proud to offer the Negroni Blues, crafted with Canadian-made, butterfly pea blossom infused, Empress 1908 Gin to create colour and softness, Aperol to add an herbal touch, and finished with white Vermouth for balance.

Ingredients: Empress Gin, Aperol, Bianco vermouth, sugar cube, blueberries, blueberry bitters

Garnish: sugared blueberries, Lemon twist

Description: We wanted to feature an exciting take on a Negroni by using our house-made butterfly pea syrup to display a vibrant hue of purple. It has bright and delicate floral notes that emphasizes the flavors of Gin.

Resurrection Spirits

Il Post Pisolino Negroni [The Post Nap Negroni]

Description:  Soft coconut aromatics, with espresso undertones mixed with the bittersweet Campari, then perfectly rounded out and complimented with the blend of the herbaceous, floral, roasted notes of the Amaro, and the bittersweet notes of vanilla and orange from the Carpano Antica Vermouth. Perfect as a tasty pick me up after a pleasant afternoon nap, easing into a calm fall evening.

Ingredients: Coconut fat washed Resurrection Gin, Espresso infused Campari, Amaro Montenegro, Giuseppe Carpano Antica Vermouth
