This is a beautiful tapas lounge which opened in the late fall on East Hastings in the Strathcona neighborhood; I was excited to revisit for their recently added weekend brunch service.

Cappuccino
Started of the morning with a Cappuccino with almond milk, and they have a good selection of other espresso based beverages as well as cocktails for those that prefer to start their morning that way.

Pan-Fried Zucchini Bread with salted caramel drizzle, whipped ricotta, pumpkin seeds, olive oil, this tasty dish is also offered on their night time menu.

Toad in the Hole Sandwich
Toad in the Hole Sandwich this is not normally a dish I would have ordered as I don’t like eggs, however, as Lawrence wanted to try it, he had the top and I had the bottom, here you have Bench Bakehouse Sourdough, egg, chorizo, cheddar, olive tapenade, aioli, organic side salad.

Mash & Kimchi bowl
Mash & Kimchi bowl, Mashed amarosa potato, Belgian endive kimchi, poached eggs, herbs; and I loved the flavour of the kimchi with the amarosa potato.

Kedgeree
Kedgeree bowl, this was an amazing dish with Smoked sablefish risotto, andouille sausage, rapini, poached eggs, hollandaise; and one that I would order again.
Brunch is offered on Saturday and Sunday from 10am -2pm, they also offer a Mimosa cart service for those that like to brunch with mimosas in hand.
