Afternoon Tea is an art and should be an extraordinary experience one that you will cherish. Vancouver has some wonderful places for you to indulge in an Afternoon Tea experience. Each of the places is unique in what they offer along with the type of service and selection of sandwiches, pastries and desserts. I am on a journey around the city to find these extraordinary places.
Le Doux Ciel is located in Yaletown in downtown Vancouver and has been welcoming guests since late Summer.
I had their Afternoon Tea Service for $49.99 per person.
They offer an exquisite tea collection from France, I chose the Mt Fujiyama green tea which was served in a beautiful tea pot decorated with birds.
I was served the beautiful 3-tiered tray ‘bird cage’ for two which fits the theme of birds and sky, each tier featuring different creations.
The 3-tiered tray featured an assortment of savouries on the bottom plate that included a Portobello mushroom tarts, Hoisin duck in wonton cups, Roast beef sandwich and Salmon Sushi.
On the Middle plate, a selection of desserts including Seasonal fruit cups and Raspberry mousse.
The Top plate features a selection of sweets including Mango tarts, Matcha macarons and Passion yuzu mousse.
In addition to the set you get a Chicken and apple croissant sandwich; it also comes with a plate of Watermelon with cucumber; Smoked salmon with herbal cream cheese; and their house-made Scones.
My thoughts – The elegant Parisian tea room and patisserie made you feel like you were transported to France. I loved the Portobello mushroom tarts, Hoisin duck in wonton cups from the savoury selection of the tier try, as well as the Mango tarts, Matcha macarons and Passion yuzu mousse, and Raspberry mousse from the selection of sweets. I also loved the Chicken and apple croissant sandwich, and their Scones.
