Lunar New Year Tea Service at TWG Tea

Afternoon Tea is an art and should be an extraordinary experience one that you will cherish. Vancouver has some wonderful places for you to indulge in an Afternoon Tea experience. Each of the places is unique in what they offer along with the type of service and selection of sandwiches, pastries and desserts. I am on a journey around the city to find these extraordinary places.

Starting off with a cup of warm Pacific Route Tea which is one of the newest tea offerings specifically for Chinese New Year. This tea service is a wonderful way to celebrate the Year of the Pig New Year; I indulged in the Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea service.

Although I selected a hot Tea you can also choose the Tokyo Singapore Iced Tea if you prefer a cold tea instead of hot.

After my selection of tea was served, I then indulged with a selection of Chinese themed savouries and sweets served on a three-tiered platter.

My favourites from the Savoury canapes included the Cauliflower and Parsley Soup with Water Flower Tea infused sponge cake topped with a parsley chip brushed with gold powder, Breakfast Yuzu Tea infused miso, sake and mirin paste glazed roasted sablefish; and the Nori tofu strips infused with sencha served with a wasabi mayonnaise.

My favourites from the Sweet canapes included the Chocolate and Coconut Powder bar infused with coconut tea, Chestnut and Mandarin tartlet infused with Ami de The; and the Hazelnut Praline with red bean and Darjeeling Nouveau infused cremeux choux pastry.

This special Lunar New Year Tea service runs through to the end of February and is $48 per person. Make your reservations soon and enjoy this years Chinese New Year celebration. TWG Tea Restaurant and Boutique is located at 1070 West Georgia, in downtown Vancouver.
