A beautiful bakeshop in the heart of Yaletown that keeps things simple, they offer a selection of in-house baked croissants, cinnamon buns along with espresso drinks and they do it all so well. Kids and grown-ups alike will want to watch the bakers at work and play making the baked goods in the large open kitchen behind the glass wall.
Over a few visits I have tried most of the baking; the cinnamon buns are huge and yummy, I have tried them all, loved the Red Bean Cinnamon Bun with matcha icing; as well as the Original, one with dates, another with nuts as well as one with raisins. The cinnamon buns are offered with and without icing, choice of regular fluffy cream cheese icing or matcha icing.
From the beverage line-up, I loved the Matcha Latte made with almond milk; I’ve also had an Iced Americano and their coffee beans come from local roaster Milano Coffee.
Then there are the croissants, the Double Baked Chocolate Almond Croissant is heavenly as is the Earl Grey Croissant which is filled with an earl grey crème. The Kouign-amann is one of the best around at least around Vancouver. I have also enjoyed the savoury Spinach and Feta Croissant; and they do offer other savoury croissant options.
Soon they will be adding book shelves to feature local authors books, this is already a great place to hangout and indulge, the books addition is going to add even more to this gem.
